United States Visa Requirements

The Visa Waiver Program allows most citizens and nationals of participating countries to visit the United States without a visa for stays of 90 days or less, if they meet the program’s requirements. Travelers using the Visa Waiver Program must also have valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval before they travel.

For attendees requiring a visa, the organizers of the International Cryocooler Conference encourage you to apply for your visa at least 3 to 4 months prior to the conference. Please familiarize yourself with visa requirements well in advance of the conference.

PLEASE NOTE: Some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews. To check on Visa Requirements and Wait Times for Interview Appointments and Processing by city, Click Here.

If you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the Conference, please contact the Conference Chair by email and provide the following information:

Full Name (as it appears on your passport)
Affiliation and Mailing Address
Passport Number and Country of Issue
Date of Birth
Valid Email Address

The letter we provide will reflect your status as known to us at the time – e.g. abstract accepted; paid registration received, etc. Your letter will be emailed to you. You must notify us if you require a hard copy by mail.

Problems:

Any problems encountered in visa applications or in the admission process should be reported to the International Visitors Office by completing the questionnaire on their website. The International Visitors Office can inquire at the Department of State about the status of visa applications that have been pending for more than 21 days. Please be sure to include International Cryocooler Conference (ICC) in the “Purpose of Visit” field on the questionnaire.
